We live in a time when people are extremely health and body conscious.

The existence of health spas, gyms, fitness equipment, and the increase in health care budgets, all testify to this; as does the unprecedented interest shown in diet, vitamins and other supplements. Legitimate concern about cancer causing environmental agents and extensive press coverage of new medical discoveries, are evidence of our age-old desire to live longer.
But surely our priorities are out of order?
We know that our life on earth will end. This life is important. How much more important is the life to come? We should spend comparable time and energy to ensure that all will be well in eternity, don’t you think? The words of Christ come to mind: “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness” (Matthew 6:33).
This earthly life is important, and we must care for it, but there is life after death. We must prepare for it by acknowledging that we have sinned against God, repenting of (turning from) our sin, and believing in the Lord Jesus Christ. The life to come is infinitely more important than our life on earth. It is eternal. It is with God. It is God’s life within the person who accepts Christ that provides a superior quality of life.
The alternative to eternal life is eternal death, separation from the God of Heaven and the life He freely offers.
The Bible warns that those who do not believe in the Lord Jesus Christ will “be punished with everlasting destruction (away) from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power” (2 Thessalonians 1:9). This is too terrible to contemplate. We must listen to God’s warnings and come to Him!
We will all die. The prudent will anticipate this inevitability and prepare to meet God. “He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life” (1 John 5:12). “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved” (Acts 16:31).
Act on this Divine promise and eternal life is yours!
