Talking Time

viaadmin Volume 42

My mind cannot wrap itself around the speed of technology these days. Who would have thought, 50 years ago, that we would be walking around with phones in our pockets? Not only can we talk on our phones but we can also access the World Wide Web with instant information from anywhere in the world.

As functional as your phone may seem, there always seems to be another model that does more amazing things, faster and easier. It seems that people are not content for long with their current model of phone but are soon ready to upgrade. But even the best phones don’t always work perfectly. If there is no mobile service where you are, you will not be able to talk or surf the Web. Phone plans are expensive and buying minutes can be a chore. Talking plans, text bundles, and battery charging, all need to be dealt with. But do you know there is a communication package available that is out of this world?

We have a God with whom we can have instant access at all times. He promises to supply all our needs when we trust Him. We don’t need a dial tone to speak to Him, and most certainly we don’t need money to buy minutes to hear His voice. We hear His voice through His Word, the Bible. God’s Word shares the way to be sure of eternal life. It contains all the information we need to keep us walking in fellowship with God.

God does require that we be on His ‘plan’ of salvation. In order to have fellowship with God and to have unlimited talking minutes, the barrier of sin must be removed. God hates sin. It blocks fellowship with Him. God’s ‘plan’ although free to us, cost Him His only Son. The Bible says, “The wages of sin is death”. This means no communication with God but separation from Him in a place of punishment for ever. However, the same verse adds that “the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23).

Do you value talking time and fellowship with God? Have you heard His voice? Receive His plan of salvation today. The contract has been paid by the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. He has dealt with the barrier of your sin. Jesus said, “He who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life” (John 5:24).
